Did not return calls. Did not file a proper extension for my business. Absolutely the worst tax people I've ever encountered. I owe thousands in penalties and have to contact the IRS (they don't care about their negligence). Avoid at ALL costs.

Ive been using CSL for years and never again. I dropped my taxes off on March 9th and they told me 3 weeks. It was 5 1/2 weeks later that I was notified they were ready on a Saturday before the deadline at 4:00 in the afternoon and they were closing at 4:30. They told me theyd be open on Sunday so I could pick them up between 9-3. We got there and the door was locked. We waited there for a moment and the receptionist came to the door. I said I thought you were open from 9-3 and she said No, we are only open for pick ups in a rude manner. I had to call everyday after the three weeks to make sure they were getting them done and baby sit. I kept getting excuses that they only have one employee to check the tax returns and she only is part time and works 3 hours a night. I really like the man that did our taxes in the past so we continued to use them. He used to call and update us with the amount and I got nothing this year or last year for that matter since he retired. This will be our last time using this establishment and I would consider using someone else to do your taxes if you are smart.

Moved all of our business to them last year. It was THE absolute best decision we have made. Great advice, counsel and planning. Cannot recommend them high enough.

Ive been using csl tax since 2006 because the owner Craig is a great guy but unfortunately Eileen Holiday his employee is a liar and doesnt know what shes doing and my refund amount was different then my return after she messed my taxes up multiple times before filing them. This was a huge mistake and I wont be using csl tax anymore and I think Eileen Holiday should be audited, her license to be revoked and is very incompetent.

I really want to give the most honest review possible to potentially help others out in the future. I choose a lot of services based on reviews so I just want to put my actual experience out there to help others to make a decision. We have used CSL for approx. 4 years now. One thing that has always remained true is they are poor with their email responses. You have to call and even show up to get answers. Luckily we live close and my wife works from home so we have made this work. We somewhat just saw past this for a while. The most upsetting part of our experience was a mistake made in 2020. Kathy neglected to put any of my wife's income in our tax returns and got us in hot water with the IRS. Yes, it is shame on us too for not noticing and we take partial blame. However, not only did we submit more than 10 real-estate documents (wife is an agent), but we also filled out their entry sheet which clearly stated we both worked and what our occupations are. How this can be missed is really surprising. That year it felt like we did our taxes 3 times with all of the amendments. CSL did agree to pay the tax penalties so I commend them for that. But it did throw a wrench in all of our financial planning because the "return" changed from largelypositive to largely negative. And I am sure we are now on some radar for the IRS. Just not fun and is easily avoidable. Then Kathy left the company and the owner Craig contacted us and made things right. So we decided to give them another chance. Responses had gotten even worse than they were historically. For 2022, we had all of our documents submitted in early March. Eileen was our tax preparer. We checked in every 1-2 weeks to make sure we had submitted everything and asked if we needed to visit. We were met with near total silence. They would sometimes respond but not answer any questions. We checked in with them the Friday before the final weekend before the deadline. No response. So I began adding Craig to the emails and he reassured us they would be ready on time. Monday, no call. Tuesday, no call. Tuesday we called in, no answer. My wife ran up to get them on deadline day and they took about 30 minutes to get them to us. All of this is very easily avoidable. We made ourselves available every step of the way and requested numerous times to have them earlier so we would have time to review them (considering the big mistake in 2020). Why on Earth wait until the last day to finish our taxes? The mistake in 2020 messed with our family finances. The non-existent communication in 2022 left us nervous and frankly broke all trust. We can't even get them on-time so how can we trust the accuracy? How do we know they weren't "whipped together"? It is not fair to treat clients this way who are relying on your for a professional service.
