I always like to go shopping there, today I felt uncomfortable because of the attitude of an employee who was in the collections area. Today it was cold I wore a jacket and covered my head, when paying I looked for a machine where you can make two payments as I had orders that I was going to pay with cash and mine with a card. In my first operation, as soon as I finished scanning what I was going to pay in cash, the employee blocked my screen with an alert as if I was stealing. I felt very uncomfortable why the alarm was activated. I couldn't continue with my operation or pay for it because she didn't give me any chance, until I had to tell her and I realized that she did it herself. After the bad time he put me through, I continued with my second operation. I feel like she is racist, she judged me how I was dressed. I always charge my card and I have never been treated like this in any store. She would be right if I walk through the door with merchandise that I haven't paid for then that is theft. But he's still doing my operation. There is a saying that says "appearance is deceiving". It's the most embarrassing thing I experienced today.

If your associates are going to make comments like, "And you let the door slam. And this is why I hate people," please post signs to inform customers ahead of time to not let them slam. Or better yet, invest in freezer doors that don't slam. I am a Doordash shopper, and to Dierberg's credit, I have never in my life seen an associate this rude. I have been that person and I understand being frustrated in that moment, but I also know to let the customer walk away before making hateful comments. I also understand that there were likely outside influences impacting the associate's mood, as well as that I have some of the blame in that moment. I spoke with a store manager about the incident, and I trust them to handle the situation appropriately, so I'm not asking for further action. But this is vexing me to no end, so here we are. All I'm saying is actions could have been taken by the company to prevent this interaction.
