I am so very disappointed in this builder. They build your home and walk away, even if they use sub par quality materials. We learned that 3.5 years ago the roofing material they used was of very poor quality.....How we have learned this is for these past 3.5 years the shingles have been blowing off at a whisper wind and lifting constantly. Initially(first time building a new home), we didn't think much of it but now after having to have a roofing company out there 4 more times we have learned that these particular shingles are no longer used because they are so bad(in other words, they got these very very CHEAP!).
We called Consort Homes and basically they say IT is not their problem. Now... remember...THIS WAS A BRAND NEW HOME AND A ROOF SHOULD HAVE A LIFE EXPECTANCY OF AT LEAST 15 YEARS.
I understand the "warranty", but why are they not standing behind their product? After speaking with different people e have learned that McBride Homes had had this happen and replaced the roof at no charge. Hmm....I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND CONSORT HOMES, they build and walk away... THAT IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR THE NEW HOMEOWNER!
STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
