Kerri, Linda, and the rest of the staff here are among the kindest, sweetest souls we've ever come to know. Many families are allow a place to stay here at little to even no cost as there children receive hospital treatment. They provide a room for the family to relax and sleep in their own private space where they enjoy a private bathroom where they can take comfortable showers or baths depending on the individual room designs. Here there are additional toilets on each level to help accommodate larger families, staff, vendors, or guests. A house parent remains on site in a private apartment so that the guests can always find support for the services provided. This location is actually a building owned by Washington University so in addition to staff and alarms with key code entry the recorded lot is also frequently patrolled by campus security for the added protection of the families and staff here to help maintain a safe environment beyond simply screening done upon approval of ones application for temporary shelter assistance as needed. Nestled beside this comfortable building surrounded with maintained landscaping guests can take their pics with Ronald McDonald or let the kids enjoy the sizeable enclosed playground with safety padding throughout. Those who stay here share a common entry with a receptionist on duty most days, have porch access with designated smoking area, a balcony, three family rooms with Televisions in two and another set up to enable crafting and board games or puzzles. Two playrooms available near the family room with one you can view thru if you decide to fix food for your group. Each room is given personal pantry space with their own mini fridge and is welcomed to use the kitchen and it's utensils but be mindful to respectfully take care of any mess you make. You can always ask for additional or fresh linens thru your stay but should take any you've soiled down to the basement laundry where they also allow you to wash and dry your families clothing. It's essentially a home away from home for the families of many who pass thru as they are awaiting their loved ones recovery. The entire organization is truly one of the greatest charities and these folks are friendly enough they care about the people that pass thru their doors. If you ever need them they are sure to be there but here's to hoping you don't. Idk if bumping works on Google reviews but it should and people who help others, especially those who do so w out expecting return should always be appreciated. In life we may expect to witness the lose of our parents but naturally we still fear it. My father always said nothing is as hard as loosing ur parents. He always added thank God he could say that because his children were alive. I lost my mother right before my son was diagnosed and still don't know what weed have done wout these beautiful people. Hoping everyone supports them. Those who havent needed them please understand how blessed u are and if possible donate in some way. Everyone stay blessed and lift these people the kids families and doctors they support up.
