Mercy Heart Hospital South

My husband and I were sent to Mercy Hospital South ER by our PCP during an exam. My husband had an unexpected condition. We were in the ER unit, the cardiac ICU unit and medical telemetry unit. All staff in all units gave us nothing but the best and most complete care. My husband was in pain. They kept him comfortable and pain-free. We would recommend this hospital to others based on our experience.

I have been literally ignored three different times by three different staff. My request was when I would be taken to MRI or xray as I was sent from radiology at 1pm this afternoon by my Dr for a possible vertebrae fracture. I saw one woman ask twice for an ibuprofen for her grandmother who came in with a wrist injury directly behind me. That young lady had to get Head of staff to view the xrays of her grandmother's injury and treat it

Hey CEO OF MERCY,GET SOME HELP for the ER here the waiting is way to long and going by the other reviews its pretty known, going on 7 hrs now sitting in waiting room with father in law waiting to go in a room!

Update: (3/7/22 Bill of $5,717.04 charged to me for nothing done.) 1) ekg electrodes did not stick. 2) 2 shots of morphine and tramadol. 3) couple x-rays 4) couple vials of blood taken. 14 hours sitting in ED waiting room HURTING!!! >1 Hour seen by Dr that was a joke of a physician. Waiting for itemized statement to proceed with legal action. AVOID THIS FACILITY!!! On 1/23 Went in to the ED with left hand numbness and severe left arm pain with muscle spasms. Was made to wait in ED waiting room for 15 hrs. During that time I watched homeless people causing commotion by (1) female yelling at herself in the windows, (2) one male coughing unmasked and sleeping on the chairs and (3) 3 males in there just to get warm. The ED catered to the homeless female by bringing her food and drinks and even a damn blanket. They have shelters to help them! Care for the sick!!! I told them that I had a severe nerve impingement and nothing was done. I have cardiac history....they don't care. No mri or ct scan done, no sling to help alleviate stress on arm. Do yourself a favor and go to Barnes or St Luke's, even a veterinarian would give better care! Now I'm looking to get neck surgery to fix the nerves that are impinged. Was told to consider taking legal action. Avoid this hospital at all costs! Today, I received a letter stating that they hope to express their sincere apology. And they consider the complaint closed, but to consider their facility and services again....NOPE! I'll die before I ever go back to Mercy South!
