I love "MY" salon!! The owner Lana is awesome! I love my cosmetologist/stylist & I consider her a friend- Anjanette! I've been going here for over 12 years. Professional, clean environment, still practicing Covid protocols. Bonus- restaurant next door if you running short on time to eat before your appt. Cultivate Salon is a beautiful black owned business They aren't messy and filled with drama! It's all positive vibes and good down to earth ladies & funny to. I always leave with a smile & I appreciate them. They provide good quality service. You need a calm & positive vibe when you're relaxing & having your crown attended to & they provide just that. I have long locs that Anjanette started. I usually get loc maintenance -wash and style. I frequently get the Apple Cider wash, the scalp steam service, hair protein treatments & color. You will not be dissatisfied!

Not very welcoming upon entry. In all fairness,it appeared as if appointments were/are preferred or required. There is a charge for setting an appointment. However, prices aren't listed and the woman I spoke with was vague in offering a range in prices other than to say deposits were not returned if appointments were canceled. I imagine that the three customers in attendance were all regulars as the sytlist's hair was unkempt and her appearance was not particularly neat. My last impression, and it was and will be my only visit, was that business is good and the shop is not in need of or necessarily looking for new customers or to grow the business. Best of luck to the proprietor.

Cool Experience, Miss Lana did my locks some justice. I had so such build omg but she was so understanding, professional and patient enough to get me together without over charging me or complaining I definitely recommend people to go to Cultivate Salon.

WARNING: This is, by far, the worst hair salon experience I've had in my entire life. How can someone who owns a hair salon & a practicing stylist, perform at such a deficient level?! My experience with Lana Coleman! I researched online for an African American hair salon that specialized in doing natural hair. I saw the reviews and saw that Lana was featured on a special video featuring black business owners. I assumed that I was in for a treat. I booked for a shampoo, deep conditioning, and oil treatment with Lana Coleman. The simplest of services, I thought! My hair was out in a fro. She started by using a wide-tooth comb, but was extremely rough with my hair. She was combing from the middle base to the tip. A BIG NO NO for 4c hair types. After that, I went to the sink to start my wash. She rubbed the front and both sides of my head two times before rinsing. I questioned if she was in a rush or something. She never touched the back of my hair or any other parts. She applied a coat of conditioner (I thought it was the 2nd round of shampoo, but no), put a plastic cap on my head, and had me sit for about 10 minutes. I took this time to rub the areas that she didn't even touch. I guess she applied oil after that and placed the plastic cap back on my head and had me sit under the dryer for ~30 minutes. She rinsed my hair, did the same comb through like before and then asked me if I wanted to sit under the dryer. That was the end of the service! I was confused. I asked her if she was going to dry my hair with the blow dryer. Apparently, it would be an extra $15. After having already a poor service, I couldn't convince myself that any additional services would be worth it. I, literally, could not believe what I was experiencing. Needless to say, I braided my wet roots and EXTREMELY dry ends (after being under the dryer for 2 minutes), put my wig back on, and headed out the door. I took a loss, but definitely learned my lesson! I'm sure I will look back at this horrible experience and laugh about it, but I'm in disbelief right now. I still can't believe this happened smh. I feel deceived and scammed. Lana Coleman's services were absolutely NOT that of a qualified professional. At my visit, I found her careless attitude, deceptive marketing, and poor service extremely disappointing. ***in response to her reply, please see SS Tees review (I dont know know him/her, but we appear to have had similar experiences). Smh. Be also advised that an owners character could also be revealed by how he/she responds to a clients concerns).

This is not true. You where advised we do appointments only and you where ask to step in even though you didn’t have a mask. You Where also told that we had to many clients at the time to look at your hair and all appointments are did online and prices are listed . You where also told if you went threw the website to it entirety it says a card is required to schedule all appointments and you are welcome to call if you like us to go threw the booking steps with you on line. We are always dressed professionally and courteous to everyone. We sorry you felt the way you did. Prices are listed on website

We always aim to provide 5-star service and, if not, we do our best to correct it with our deep respect for client service in-salon. Cultivate Salon does not engage in acrimonious online exchanges, but rather we point to the overwhelming number of positive reviews already earned from our years of service to St. Louis’ Natural Hair Community. We encourage anyone interested in our services to allow us to prove our high level of professionalism and Natural Hair Care capabilities.
