I love the renovations done to the Bayer YMCA. The spaces are so open and inviting. Love the new equipment and strength area too!

I come in to use the steam room and sauna and the door is locked at 6am entering the pool area so I wait patiently until around 6:15 am then I decide to call the front desk and then I was told there is no life guard on duty so why doesn’t whoever opens up the building in the morning know who’s at work on time and to post on the board that there is no life guard on duty so members don’t have to waste time getting dressed for pool area for nothing just to be told it will be another hour before someone arrives

Although the renovations of the fitness area are nice, it seems they spent a large chunk of change on a new family locker room, completely ignoring the men's locker room which is gross and in need of renovations. It smells and the showers have those flimsy plastic curtains that are worse than just having open showers, and you know they don't get cleaned often enough. Both the hot tub and sauna are co-ed and require changing into swimwear. Add a steam room or something to the locker areas and some more sink space!

Nice facility and nice staff too but they just aren't doing anything for Covid. There's always at least one person with their mask below their nose or off, sometimes staff. Nobody really checks on it except for one guy who works there. I've seen people workout with no mask at all and no one says anything. Also doesn't make sense to have groups of mainly older women in a small room for a class with an instructor who keeps her mask off. Just wish they took it seriously because it's a good gym but covid isn't over yet and they could be protecting people.
