Basso

This was our first time at basso. They make an awesome espresso martini! Of the food we ordered our favorites were the lemon ricotta ravioli, cacio e Pepe and the truffle pizza. The staff was super fun and friendly. We had a great experience!

We stayed at the Cheshire hotel and were fortunate to have Basso on the premises! We met a friend here the first night of our stay. The restaurant is in the basement. The atmosphere was inviting with gas lit wall lights, a center bar with booths and high tops. Autumn was a wonderful server. She was so pleasant and informative. We really enjoyed having her as our server. Happy hour is from 4 to 6. We tried the fried meatballs, which were great. The lemon ravioli and the shrimp pasta dish were both delicious. Prices were reasonable. When you dine, the food taste and quality are top priority, but when the food is phenomenal and the service and atmosphere are just as good, it makes the experience memorable. We ended up returning on our second night! Julie was our server and we really enjoyed her, too. She was helpful and interested in our satisfaction! We tried the Brussel sprouts, an heirloom salad with delicious bread. Our entrees were the butcher steak and the burger. The steak was wood fired and super tender! The burger was delicious. The fries and shishito peppers were very good. We highly recommend this hidden gem and thank Autumn and Julie for making our stay in St. Louis so memorable!
