STL Concrete Contractors

I am rescinding my earlier review. I have been contacted by a lawyer for a concrete supply company who is placing a lien against my property!!!! I was stupid and didn't get a lien waiver. According to the lawyer, STL Concrete didn't pay the concrete supply company they used on my house. Also, according to the lawyer, there are several other suppliers who are having difficulty collecting. I asked for an explanation from STL Concrete and they have completely ghosted me. I hate posting reviews like this for small business but I've no other recourse. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. While the owner, Derrick graciously agreed to refund a job that never got started, I've been told I'd be receiving a check on numerous occasions since last December. I've offered the owner different ways to pay it back and offered to make sure he kept some of the deposit for coming out to give me a free estimate. Constantly being lied to. Unfortunately the only option I have left to fix the situation is small claims. **Jennifer at STLCC is so so nice though.

Like other recent reviewers have shared, the company is not responsive and have simply not done the work. I put down $3,600 in June and got two phone calls since then saying they would complete the work in August, and then when that didnt happen, the last week of September or the first week of October. I finally called last week asking if they were going to complete the job and then emailed this week asking for my deposit back. No response. I am thinking small claims court is my only option now. Listen to the recent reviews! UPDATE: After a long wait, Derrick and his crew finished the work today (12/1). Its excellent quality and they clearly know what theyre doing. The company seems to be going through some personnel issues and isnt great at communication, but they do know how to pour concrete!

Putting my down payment with the business is the WORST thing I have done. Derreck cannot follow through on his words and Joe mostly cannot be reached. Firstly, Derreck said they will come in mid June, and could not hold up the words and said in 1-2 weeks. Then he gave an exact date in 2 weeks, I waited at home, no show. Again, he gave another date in 2 weeks and confirmed the day before saying the crew will be here at 8am. I waited and no show. Then he offered a refund last Friday, I called and texted, have not heard back since. Re: owner response Please dont try to mess the order of events. I hired someone else to do the job long after what you said, I quote We decided to give your deposit back I dont believe we are right company for your job. Since then, you are never reachable. Could you give me back my down payment please? If you are an honorable company like you claim, please return the money like you said.

DO NOT DEPOSIT MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY FOR WORK. My father put down a deposit with this company in June. Fortunately, it was paid with a credit card per my recommendation. This company was supposed to begin the work within a week. They have been giving him the runaround for over 3 months. First, it was the weather, then it was this or that. STL has not experienced rain that would cause them to be running 3 months behind. But they had no issue taking his $1500 deposit. Now they are not answering the phone. I, myself, am a small business owner and do not like to leave bad reviews for small businesses, but we are at this point. I believe this company has taken advantage of my elderly father and is completely unethical. As you can see from other reviewers, they do not respond. Maybe they were good at one point, but that is currently not the case (sort their review by most recent and you will see there is clearly a recent issue). Whomever is no longer working there or whatever is going on internally should not be the customer's issue (which is another excuse he was given). Operate with integrity and if you can't do the work, don't take a deposit.
