South County service department fails - $175 for nothing but holding my truck hostage for a day. I had a 7am appointment on Friday and was asked to drop my truck off the night before. I did that at 4:30pm. The service I requested was 1) fix my A/C not blowing very cold. 2) perform an antifreeze flush & fill. The next day @3:44p.m. I finally received a call from the service department apologizing for not being able to look @ my vehicle until late in the afternoon. I was informed the condenser had a leak and required replacement. As if the consumer class action lawsuits, the thousands of complaints on Chevy/GM forums and hundreds of videos showing the flawed GM mounting weld design on 2014 2019 vehicles are a secret. Anyway, the quote for repair was $1400 to replace the condenser & recharge the A/C system. The failure to perform the antifreeze flush & fill wasnt even discussed. I was told the nearest condenser is in Chicago and its so late in the day now, and being Friday and all (yada, yada, yada). In so many words, I was being told Bommarito service dept. does not want your business and we have no interest in performing any service whatsoever, even if you agree to this absurd service charge. Picking up on what he was politely telling me, I felt compelled to share that I did my homework and know I can purchase a new AC Delco Gold condenser for $130 and considerably less for a knockoff brand LOCALLY, today. With nothing to rebut, he attempted his hand at upselling (I guess their lack of service) by telling me it was time to change the axle and transfer case fluid. Wow! Just Wow! For obvious reasons, I had to decline that sweet offer. I later picked up my truck and was charged $175 (diagnosis fee) for doing absolutely nothing. Nothing! Please learn from my experience and avoid the Bommarito group for any service.
