My 97 year old mother died on Friday. We were going to donate her clothes to the nursing home for anyone that would need them. My sister and I-went back to the nursing home Not even eight hours after we had left the nursing home and they had cleaned out my moms room completely!! we asked for her things back and they couldnt find the things they found the fan we asked for they found a light with asked for her little personal items. Dont know what happened to them!! moms room was paid for the end of the month I just wanted to sit in the room and get a little closure and they took that away from us and the Director said there mustve been a miscommunication. They could have just closed the door and left it a day, but now took everything that my mom had left her little trinket thing she played with every day. Its more what I wanted than a fan and the light. The care there was not bad, but they left a very sour taste in my mouth.
On another note, the new Director of nursing was having a verbal fight with a resident. they had searched her room and took her cigarettes Im not pro smoking, but I still feel as if that was wrong. If she wants to argue with a resident, she needs to take them to her office and not do it in public where guest nursing staff and other residents and hear it.
