Andrew came out to resolve a humidifier issue. Due to a confusing mess previous techs had left, it took quite a bit of troubleshooting to resolve. He took the extra time to get it done right! Will hire again for any future HVAC work. UPDATE: After my amazing first experience with this company, I had them come out to perform a routine maintenance on our nearly 20 year old furnace. During this maintenance a couple items came up that needed replacement, and one that was important to have done this winter: the flame sensor. Tyler from Hometown Heroes cleaned the sensor, but unfortunately it was no longer able to operate within spec and needed to be replaced. I was told the cost to replace the sensor would be $362 on top of the $59 maintenance Id paid for. Tyler came out the next day and replaced the sensor. This was after a supposed 15% discount that I do not see reflected on my invoice. Maybe Im missing it? Something just didnt feel quite right about the whole thing. Last night I was googling how much the parts cost for this type of repair. It is less than $20. The repair also took less than one hour. I asked some friends with experience in this field if I had been swindled. The general consensus was that yes, I vastly overpaid for this service. I understand paying for expertise, knowledge, overhead, etc. Some friends said I could have the service done for between $100-$200. The cherry on top was that Tyler said my humidifier was no longer going to work after the service, which is what Andrew had fixed for me last year. He wanted me to have it completely rewired and to disconnect it from our Nest thermostat and purchase a new dumb humidistat. This was supposedly because the current situation was unworkable? Paraphrasing. The guys at Hometown Heroes are batting 1-2 with my experience. Sadly I dont feel like I could trust them to do any more repairs in my home. Honest pay for honest work is undervalued. Phenomenal business! Legitimately hires people who love what they do and have a passion for doing things right! Tyler D. has been outstanding! He is extremely knowledgeable, professional and has a keen eye for detail (see pics). I had him install a humidifier and it's one of the best installs I've ever seen, very clean work. Finally, with the constant comfort plan I genuinely feel I am in good hands and look forward to many years working with such a great company, thank you!
