image Im extremely disappointed I dropped my Tiller off with instructions to fix the broken cable. I got a phone call from the company telling me they cannot fix the cable because the tiller company is out of business. I already knew the company was out of business. It is just a Common cable. This Small Engine company Could not fix it. They then decided to charge me $40 for absolutely nothing. They were, however, nice enough to say if I didnt want to come pick it up, they would scrap it The tiller works great its in great shape. The cable is broke. I went and picked up the Tiller fixed it myself in 30 minutes. I also had a bad experience with them doing un requested work on my zero turn I dropped off at the same time.

Thank you for the honest feedback about your visit to our facility. We too are disappointed in not being able to perform the necessary repairs on your equipment. As for the tiller, when an original equipment part can not be sourced, we generally opt to not repair with universal parts. In our 16 years of operation, we have found that the longevity of repairs with aftermarket or universal parts falls short of the customers expectations nearly every time. With that being said, we also charge a check out fee on every piece of equipment that comes into our shop. This is standard practice for all small engine equipment service centers, and most actually require a deposit to be paid at time of drop off. Those deposits are applied towards any repairs performed. If no check out fee was applied, it would be difficult to explain to the technician, the service writer, the office manager, and other staff members, that the don't get paid because the customer doesn't believe they should pay for the time these employees spent checking out, looking up parts, creating an estimate, and calling the customer. As a side note, your check out fee for the tiller was $30, not $40. In regards to your zero turn, you had requested a maintenance service of lapping the valves. This is an uncommonly requested service with out having other issues with the unit. Upon inspection, we found the engine on your mower to be smoking. It was diagnosed as a faulty piston ring. So, to perform the requested service would be a frivolous repair, as it would have no affect on the performance of the engine or correct the smoking condition. It is our stance to provide the customer with the most cost effective, accurate diagnoses as possible, and advise the customer with the best path of repair. As for performing un requested work on your zero turn, we simply provided a thorough overview of the condition of you machine, with estimates of repair costs. No actual "work" was done. In closing, Outdoor Power Center strives to continue to provide quality service to the local community as it has done since 2007.

image A little more expensive than box stores, but the warranty coverage more than makes up for the difference. I live in Lees Summit, but it's definitely worth the drive.
