POSITIVES: This campground Iis GREAT. It has everything you could need. They rent golf carts, have a store on site, swimming pool, jump pillow, clean bathrooms/showers large pond to fish, walking trails, and a large grassy area for dogs to run and do their business. NEGATIVES: LOTS of rules, on-site management, almost harassing people about parking and quiet hours. Sites are gravel and not very level, so be ready to pull out the blocks. We had 5 campers, and sadly, the management was so uptight that we will not be coming back. Walkability: Waking trails on site. Food & drinks: Lots of nearby restaurants and fast food.

Came down from Philadelphia to be here for the eclipse. It was a sold out weekend. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The bathroom and shower were clean. The cabin we rented was adorable, clean, and had both air conditioning and heat (both if which we used in this crazy weather. I couldnt have been happier

We absolutely loved this place! We were searching for a place to stay for the 2024 eclipse inside the totality path. Of course nothing was available that wasn't $600+ a night in the entire southeast Missouri area which is the closest for us being from KC. I spoke with Karen, our gracious host, about getting on the waiting list for an RV spot. I called back several times to check in with her. Then a couple weeks later, she called and said one of the rustic cabins opened up. We jumped at the chance and booked 3 nights there. Zero regrets and we highly recommend it! It was still off season, so the jump pad and pool were closed, but the kids still loved the playgrounds, nature trail to the nearby lake, and of course playing by the pond that was just a few feet from our cabin. The cabin was adorable. We had the Catfish Cottage which had a front room and a back room separated by a wall and door. The front room had a full sized bed and the back room had two bunkbed sets. The mattresses were actually pretty comfortable, better than expected. There were power outlets and ceiling lights in each room, as well as a porch light. There's a cute little electric fireplace and window AC in the back room. In more extreme temps, you might want to bring a fan to circulate the air to the front room. Every cabin has its own fire pit, grill, and picnic table. Things to consider is that you'll need to bring bedding/sleeping bags, and everything else as if you were tent camping. One of the 4 pond cabins has a water spigot behind it for fresh water. We brought a 5 gallon fresh water jug with valve and foldable sink to wash our hands and make coffee. We always travel with our Keurig! The restrooms and showers (I think 3 stalls and 3 showers in each) were kept very clean and weren't ever busy. Most of the time you're the only one in there. If you have a hard time getting around, this might not be the place for you. They are in the main office building maybe 300 to 350 feet away from the cabins and up hill. We didn't find this to be a deal breaker though even with a 5 and 3 year old. It'd be great if they put in a one stall restroom next to the cabins for middle of the night bathroom breaks. You are near the highway, so there is quite a lot of road noise, but it didn't bother us. The plus side to that is that it's in a perfect location near Wal-Mart and restaurants. We ate at the Mexican place next to Wal-Mart and it was surprisingly delicious! Highly recommend if you like good chips and salsa and authentic tacos. Big shout out to Karen, who was so sweet to us and our kids! We'll definitely be back with our camper during the summer when the pool is open. Our kids were literally crying with tears rolling down their little faces when we had to leave LOL.

Perryville RJourney was great! We were only there one night, passing through, but our front jack broke and Dwayne helped get us back on the road. They have a great playground for kids! It is near a pavilion, so it would be great for a Family Camping Trip where the extended family comes together from several states. The cabins look nice from the outside. The pool was not open yet. We plan to return when we can stay longer!
