New construction build custom cabinets are very poor quality. Soft close drawers stick because the rails the drawers slide on are not secure or stationary in the back of the cabinet, often causing the drawer to shift and run on the sides. Owner has to remove drawers and readjust often. During ordering, Gary was not very responsive and delayed getting the order in after promising it would be in by the next submission date, it ended up being over two weeks later. Wrong order- the incorrect length of cabinets were ordered requiring the builder, framers and drywall contractors to redo walls to adjust to cabinets he incorrectly ordered, delaying completion significantly. The wrong cabinet uppers and doors were ordered requiring additional on site work, cutting and restructuring the cabinets to match to correct order, door reorder delayed completion and delivery of final product. Many of the cabinet doors were warped as well, creating uneven closures, reorder of these drawer faces and cabinet doors also delayed completion and home closure. When highlighting these issues, this company rarely took responsibility and blamed it on the subcontracted cabinet provider, often tried to levy the cost on the home builder and home buyer and was then slow to reorder to fix the problem. Gary and his team did a major renovation of our condo which included consultation and design. We now have our dream kitchen with beautiful, high quality cabinetry and functional work and storage spaces. The condo renovation included redesigning our space to an open plan which added significantly to the beauty and comfort of our city space as well as enhancing the Wow factor of our exceptional view. They modernized our TV/fireplace wall with a modern horizontal fireplace and our living area with cove lighting and art lights, In addition, we now have the master bath that we wanted complete with free standing tub, large functional shower and floating vanity with lighting that is creative, practical and beautiful. A new light wood floor gives us a city condo with living spaces that visually flow. We love our new space and would recommend Gary Brown Homes.
