Blind Rehabilitation Services

I have been diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, I have had 3 dr.s tell me this is the cause of my severely fluctuating vision and my inability to walk with my head up without tripping over stuff, I started services with r.s.b. and then they requested my medical reports, I get a call from r.s.b. and they say good news the report says you don't have r.p., you just genetically tested positive for ush2a, you don't need us. I called my dr. And they said that is not what the report said at all, the next day a new dr filled out a new referral after new testing and it has been another 2 weeks and I have still not heard back from them. They need to learn how to read the reports or call the dr.s to verify that they are reading the reports wrong if they think people are lying about needing their help.

We dont feel very rehabilitated. My blind husband has been part of this rehab group since October 2019 and weve gotten nowhere on our case to get him in school with counselor Halley K. We had an in person meeting about my husbands preferred method of contact and she wouldnt adapt for him. She chose to close his case 18 days after our in person meeting. This meeting was after we requested a new counselor as well. After a year and a half wasted, he got nowhere near attending school so he could get back into the work force. Pretty good waste of time.
