Any way to leave negative stars? If you are an investor stay FAR FAR away from both marcus painter and cara painter and anyone on there team. The list of complaints I have can fill a book. I owned 2 houses in KC that they managed for me. Just an example they charged me $10k to change the electric on one of my houses and when I sent someone to check he said maybe they did $500 worth of work maybe. When it came time to sell Cara had my house in contract 3 times, made me pay out of pocket for work and all 3 times buyers backed out. Finally hired someone professional he fixed the entire house and got it sold all within 3 months. Marcus put a lien on one of my properties for bogus property management fees after I fired his wife as my agent because she couldnt get the house sold. Google me and call me if you need someone good in KC do NOT waste your time with them check there BBB also.

Buyer beware!! I bought 3 properties from 5 Star or Alpine Properties. Marcus, I believe, meant well. But he didn't have any oversight of his rehab crews. For example, I told him that a 2 AC ton unit was installed by his crew in a 1,700 square foot house. I assumed he would put in the right size. He just remarked, "Well, that's what you get when you go on your own." I told him he should be accountable for what I paid him for. He gave me a very sarcastic answer. His crew also covered up a vent with carpet. My crew found it out after I checked it out myself. Marcus is not really looking out for his clients.
When I told his wife I was going to manage the properties myself, she got pretty mad. I asked her if she had a phone list of the utility companies, she said she would not give them to me.
I called another management company, and they were very helpful with that information. Now, that new company gets me my tenants.
I think Marcus means well. But he is not accountable with his rehab crews. He talks a great talk. But beware. I would not recommend Marcus Painter or his company, especially if you're new to KC.
I have a very good manager now that I can trust.

Don't do business with these people ! THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS!. They took forever to pay for the house .Didnt even pay what was agreed apon.

I have been a customer of MC properties for the last 7 years. I have had them manage my properties and have to say they are first rate. They are quick to handle any problems my renters may have and they truly care about the people they serve. I have invested in several deals with them over the years and highly recommend them. Much better than the stock market and the performance of my 401k. They are committed to good customer service and care.
