Good Shepherd Hospice

Very dishonest. If I could put 0 stars I would. They tried to force my mother into a nursing home and dropped her when we chose not to go. My mother's wishes are to die at home. She doesn't want to die in a nursing home and I am doing my best to honor her wishes. My mother can still get around with her Walker on her own with no assistance. Is fully aware of her surroundings and what's going on. But they are worried with her walker, she may not be able to get out of her apartment on her own if there's a fire. In a nursing home, there are 20 patients to one aid. I don't. See how those odds are any better. We have 5 people that check on her daily other than her medical team But they want her to have somebody with her 24 hours a day. She is not in need of that at this point. The woman who lives in the apartment next to hers checks on her daily and has keys to her apartment. If there is a fire she is right there and knows to help my mother. The way I see it is she a companion and is sleeping in a separate room. Also, they didn't even contact me or my mom to tell us that they were dropping us. If you want to honor your parents wishes to die at home rather than in a disgusting nursing home I would not choose good shepherds.

I recently went thru the process of putting my mother in hospice. And every single person who I have dealt with here have been amazing ! Shaulene was so very kind and helpful and made the process so much more comfortable than I could have hoped for. The nurses are amazing, and the chaplain and the social worker. I recommend this place for anyone having to deal with hospice.
