This place is a major childhood memory for me. My grand parents used to take me here all the time and I absolutely love the donuts!
I went back after years and they were just as good as ever and I had an amazing conversation with the man and lady running it.
Now that I'm back in the area again, I would've loved to stop in. It's a shame to see that they're temporarily closed.

My visit to Poppy's Donuts in Independence left me with mixed feelings. While the service wasn't particularly remarkable, the donuts themselves were tasty and fresh, which is always a plus.
One aspect that gave me pause was their cash-only policy. In an increasingly digital world, it can be inconvenient to not have other payment options available.
Additionally, there seems to be uncertainty surrounding their future. It's unclear whether they will reopen or not, which leaves potential customers in a state of limbo.
Overall, while Poppy's Donuts offers a satisfactory donut experience, the lack of clarity about their future operations is a significant drawback. If they do reopen, I hope they consider expanding their payment options to better accommodate their customers' needs.
