Garth Woodside Mansion

The Garth Woodside Mansion is a gorgeous and elegant place to stay while visiting the sights in Hannibal. We stayed in the Samuel Clemens room. I highly recommend it if you are a Mark Twain fan! Our host was easy to contact, friendly and enthusiastic. Breakfast was included and wonderful! Rooms: The Samuel Clemens room was so romantic. It even had a fireplace. We were encouraged to explore the open public rooms and would have enjoyed the offered tour if we hadn't been in a bit of a time crunch. Nearby activities: The Garth Mansion is very convenient to downtown Hannibal. Highly recommend the Mark Twain museums! Food & drinks: The included breakfast was delicious and served on china. There were options you could order such as charcuterie.

Fabulous hospitality - very interesting, informative tour of mansion - snacks and drinks provided with our stay - we stayed in The Dowager House and the accommodations are wonderful. From heated towels to a fireplace near the whirlpool tub, no luxury was spared. Fun shower! There's no stove/oven, but they do have a convection oven and a grill. Lake views by day, star views from the hot tub on the back deck by night. Full media room atop the winding staircase - The new owners are highly attentive and responded quickly with any questionsor additional accommodations we requested. Fabulous customer service! Delicious gourmet breakfast walked over and set up on the table by one of the owners, herself, promptly at 9am with a "good morning" and a smile - can't say enough good things about this stay. Highly recommended!

Just WOW. Need a romantic getaway? Look no further. Bf and I stayed in the Dowager's Cottage for 3 nights. Hot tub on the deck was delightful, big bathtub with a fireplace was even more so. Everything was clean, tidy, and just perfect. Breakfast in the morning - not stale bagels and mini boxes of cereal. Art. Made with love. Angela is very considerate in how she ensures dietary restrictions or likes/dislikes are met. She provides truly delicious food with great care. If you can, request her Italian eggs - they are divine. Speaking of, Angela and her staff are truly fabulous. Attentive and so personable and very communicative. We had the pleasure of spending our last morning with Angela for a tour of the mansion and it was just a treat to talk to her. She truly cares for her guests, which you can tell from how she texts. We will be coming back and are excited to do so. Thank you again, Garth Manor staff!
