I had an AMAZING experience at Sweetwists! This was my first time going to Sweetwists as I live in new jersey. I originally reached out to Sweetwists to schedule crochet maintenance during her new york visit in Sept for one of her classes. However, during my visit home to KC in August, Tahirah offered to do my crochet while I was home to be able to get the full salon experience and I'm so glad I did! I was able to get my locs fully washed, dried, and maintenanced in UNDER 3 HOURS! I'm a DIY girl when it comes to my locs, so I don't get my hair done often unless it's for a crochet (once a year max). This was the fastest I've ever been in and out of the salon without sacrificing quality of the service and all for a FAIR PRICE! Her station was clean, the shampoo was thorough, the tingling conditioner felt amazing, and she even asked how tight I wanted my crochet before starting. Last time I got a crochet in nyc, their practice was to do it super close to the scalp and I was in pain for weeks. This time, it was done perfectly w/o any pain and super quickly! Now anytime I need maintenance done, I'll just book a flight to KC and go to Tahirah's shop (and visit my family too).

Calming and quiet ambiance. Vibes are just right, always some bomb music playlists playing the background!! Minye is great and super easy to talk to. Services: Updos, Dreadlocks, Blowdry, Hair hydration treatments
