Gladstone Water Department

I have been a Gladstone resident for 35 years. Today is now the 3rd time over the years water service has been shut off (due to repairs) WITHOUT notice. We are to host a wedding reception this evening. It is currently 2:30 and can not get confirmation water service will be restored. Quite frankly, the services provided via the common wealth of Gladstone provides leaves a lot of room for improvement. Other municipalities do a far greater job.

Yes the water tastes okay and the people at the office are nice and helpful but the website... oh the website... It is not user friendly at all. Once you go into the office and set up a water account you are then given a number which you can use to set up the online Citizen Access account. However, you can't login or use it unless someone in the office "activates" your account. Automatic bill pay doesn't work unless you sign up for it in the morning. If you sign up in the afternoon you will miss the billing cycle for the whole month and receive service disconnect notices. Also the UI is just confusing and you kind of have to dig around to figure out how to pay, auto pay, or set scheduled payments. Oh, and I almost forgot, the system doesn't run payments again if you update your card or have issues with it. It only runs once and that is it. Please please do update the website Gladstone!

I have nothing good to say unfortantly. Were buying the water from KCMO, Gladstone is the middle man. The billing system was updated and no mailer was sent, they disconnected auto pay. Disconnect notices and rudeness sent. Really need to eliminate the middle man and buy it KCMO direct. Who knows maybe they would throw in trash service too.
