I have been with LaBrunerie Financial since 2013 (though the firm handled a 403B for me through Columbia Public Schools for years). Alex is smart, enthusiastic, organized, and caring--and speaking of care, his advice and ideas have proved quite fruitful for me. Also, the entire team moves together, and moves together efficiently. I strongly recommend them, and always look forward to my annual visit.

The folks at LaBrunerie are really good at communication and trying to stay in contact with you. However, I left them to go with another financial adviser who I was with years ago who is now back in Columbia. Jake Cowen is who I was specifically working with over the last year and when Jake knew I was leaving he began to send me snarky and snide emails attacking my profession. He was clearly upset that I was leaving so he began to reply to my emails with unprofessional comments. As I mentioned, he even took it as far as to take digs at my profession suggesting I'm going to have a "tough year" next year and questioned whether I was giving my clients sound advice. He clearly forgot which lane he was in and clearly forgot which lane he should stay in. If you work with these folks and leave at any point, look forward to being harassed for doing so.
