Carfax falsely reported my one owner vehicle as having FOUR previous owners.  I found this out when I went to trade in my truck.  Dealer said this reduced the value.  I looked at my report and it shows a new owner every time I re-upped the registration.  It is near impossible to contact their customer service.  Very unreliable information, poor company, abysmal customer service.  I have contacted an attorney regarding a class action against them. Doubt it will go anywhere, this is a horrible company.

They spam call me once a month for a warranty I never had. Kandice, whom claims to be from Catfax call center hangs up on me when I ask to be removed from the list.

First of all, I must say that Carfax is a great place to work. Amazing and Inclusive work culture. Awesome peers and management staff. But above all, even before joining carfax as a team member, I have had my own personal experience with Vehicle History Report and trust me, it was a life saving experience. Although Carfax has been freshly launched in Canada, it has a pretty impressive database of Vehicles records around here plus, the buy back guarantee is not at all fake (though comes with certain terms and conditions). Back in 2021, when I was planning to buy a used car from a dealer, a friend suggested me to ask for Carfax report (not all dealers provide it, but Its recommended if you are buying a used car. Specially models that have high Odometer readings/ dates back more than 3 years). But the dealer denied to provide me with one and so I spent couple of dollars and got one by myself. To my surprise, the car had a total loss claim of more than $25,000 on it back in 2015. The Damage Severity scale and index used by Carfax to evaluate the damage severity are pretty clear and self explanatory. Furthermore, the inspection report that dealer provided to me was all clear and pass. Thus, I believe that VHR provided by Carfax are much more realistic and reliable as compared to inspection reports when buying a Used car. Thanks to Carfax, It saved me a huge sum of dollars and luckily I got an opportunity to work with such amazing company as well.

Carfax is a lie! It does not disclosure all the history of the car and the "BuyBack" warranty is fake too! I trusted Carfax and bought it before purchasing my car to discover a month later it had a crash not reported on Carfax. Since I paid for the report, I tried the customer service, which took TWO months to answer my email, to use the "BuyBack" but I present to you what they wrote me with their exact words as: "Accident and damage records are reported to CARFAX from thousands of sources, including police departments, repair shops, and insurance companies. However, not all information is available to CARFAX when a CARFAX Report is run because not all sources choose to work with us. If an incident is on file with a source that does not report to CARFAX, we have no way of knowing about it...If you feel that this vehicle was misrepresented to you, you may wish to contact the vehicle seller for resolution. There may also be third-party resolution organizations familiar with these types of disputes, and you can also check with your DMV regarding your state's disclosure laws."Please, do NOT spend your money with this fake Carfax report!! Instead use this money to pay for a pre-purchase vehicle inspection that really will make you feel secure and sure about what car you are buying!
