The process of designing and purchasing my fiance's engagement ring couldn't have gone smoother thanks to Barbara. I came in with two older rings with stones that could potentially be incorporated into the final product. She was able to guide me on which stones could be included and which would be better off being left out based on my budget and preferences. I really had no other knowledge of engagement rings coming in, other than my fiance's preference for an oval shaped center diamond. Barbara was able to quickly educate me about what I needed to know and look for throughout the process and made me feel very informed about every decision we made at every step. I got everything I asked for while still coming in under the original budget I laid out for her, which is the ultimate goal when seeking out jewelry services in my opinion. The end result was a beautiful ring that my fiance thinks is PERFECT, and we couldn't be happier.

Ms Bowman and I set up an appointment after I described the ideal ring as well as my overall budget. She offered quite a few settings and diamonds for me to compare. However, due to my research, I knew that an online competitor, Blue Nile, offered the same GIA certified diamond for about $1,000 cheaper. When I didn't buy the diamond immediately, she asked why. I told her about the huge price difference and the office setting shifted from professional to uncomfortable. She became quite abrasive with her words and expressed that I should buy from her no matter the price difference, because she "spent"time with me.(If she was only a $200-$400 cheaper, I would support a local business, but I cannot ignore a $1,000 difference)Then she demanded that I buy from her in two days or she'll return the diamond, she only extended the offer by 5 days when I told her no. I work in sales, but I would never push a client to make a decision. Bottom line: There are plenty of independent jewelers in St Louis, please do not support Ms. Bowman. She doesn't deserve the business and she'll become unprofessional and rude, if you consider her competitors.

I have done a lot of business with Barbara Bowman for a very long time and I could not be more satisfied with every experience. I purchased my first wife's engagement and wedding ring 30 years ago. My first wife passed away. But when I got remarried last year, I went back to Barbara Bowman to purchase my new wife's engagement and wedding rings. And during that 30 year period I have done many other transactions with Barbara Bowman. She is completely professional and has unmatched knowledge in the jewelry industry. In addition, she is kind and quite delightful to work with. The quality of the jewelry is magnificent and the price was very reasonable and competitive. I highly recommend Barbara Harter Bowman Jewelers to anyone interested in fine quality, fair prices and personalized service with a bright smile!

I've had a great experience with Barbara Harter Bowman Jewelers. Barbara is a pleasure to work with. The jewelry is beautiful and she is very responsive. I've referred her to many friends and family. She goes above and beyond for her clients. I'm sure we'll be working together for years to come.
