DO NOT PURCHASE FROM CARMAX! My husband purchased an over $40,000.00 dollar truck only for the MOTOR TO BLOW UP while driving our family on vacation not even two months after purchasing. Initially Carmax seemed like they were on board to help until they saw the price of new motors. Im sorry but when spending over 40K on a truck you should not have to worry about the motor blowing up after simply months. Pathetic!

Avoid. Questionable sales practices at best. Have all of your information ready & correct, title etc. and do your research ahead of time on KBB. They pass you off to multiple people throughout the process. All appear to be nice to gain your trust. Have your guard up, they are still used car salespeople.

Did an online appraisal to sell my car, was offered 10.4k, i uploaded all required photos to prove and validate condition, i decided i needed to wait another week or so to sell so that offer expired after 7 days. Roughly 10-14 days later I did it again with only an additional 200 miles added and no other changes to the car and i got 9.4k (not to mention this time it didn't even require proof of condition photos so my offer came back less vs the original which required photos) I called and said why did it drop $1000? Is this because it was the 2nd appraisal and for some reason the 2nd appraisal comes out lower perhaps bc lack of proof photos? They said we have a lot of customers calling us with that issue. They said go up there with the 9.4k offer (1000 less than the original 10 days prior) and tell them about your 1st offer and that you want that instead and we will honor it. I used this advice from the person on the phone call and when I showed up they said we don't negotiate and the market has changed so take it or leave it at 9.4k vs the original 10.4k. I said I just spoke with someone on the phone yesterday and she said to come up here show proof of my original offer and that the only change was 200 more miles and bc this is a known issues where the 2nd offer is less than the original that We will honor the original still. They kept telling me in person we don't negotiate and take it or leave it at 9.4k. I got robbed of $1000 and not happy about it. Yes the offer expired roughly 10 days prior but the only change in the car was 200 more miles. I was told to come to the store with proof of my original offer and it would still be honored vs the 2nd offer. I was told one thing just to show up in person and be told too bad and take it or leave it. I took the offer bc I took time off work to do this and was committed since I was told they would honor the 1st offer. Unacceptable. Unprofessional. Don't lie to your customers and especially when the offers vary by 10 days and only 200 additional miles, that should not change an offer by $1000. What a joke.
