My family retained Covenant Caregivers last summer to assist with a relative with dementia. Initially, we scheduled for one afternoon a week. We expressed the need for consistency and the likelihood we would increase hours over time. This was our first time dipping our toe into having a professional caregiver. Our biggest concern is with reliability and consistency. Caregivers have been late several times. The company has also called to change caregivers with less than 24 hours notice and to ask that we change our time for having them come. We have a standing appointment each week at the same time. No. We can't have someone come late, especially at the last minute. And, I cannot count the number of one-time only and short-lived caregivers that have been sent. Not all caregivers seem especially trained in dementia. It does not seem like they are well briefed on my family member's condition before coming, which I would expect would happen each time a caregiver was sent to a new client. I am not going to go into why this is important, but there are lots of reasons a caregiver should understand the challenges of dementia or any other condition requiring someone to have care. On the positive side, most caregivers have at least been nice. There could be a lot of potential for families if Covenant communicated better, increased training for their team, and attempted to be as consistent as possible.

Absolutely the worst agency I have ever seen. The first night I had a sitter stay with my dad he asked her to turn the light off because he was ready to go to sleep she told him no because she was reading a book. The next night the same sitter decided she would leave her shift early and as a result my dad fell. The next sitter decided to just not even show up for her shift. No one from the agency had the decency to call me the next day. All I got was an email. Its sad that you put your trust in a company and trust the best care will be provided to your family member. The nurse at the hospital called me herself and told me whoever I was using as a sitter service should be fired because they were completely worthless. I would never trust or recommend this company to anyone.

After meeting my Mother, Mike and Mallory worked diligently until finding the perfect caregivers for her. The caregivers were exceptionally well-trained and compassionate. They answered my many calls and questions, giving detailed information about my Mother's condition. They always included information about her daily activities. Everyone at Covenant Caregivers went above and beyond to give my mother and our family the best care possible.

About a month ago , I was in the process of moving my Dad from Kentucky to Mississippi with home hospice, I had no idea who to contact for sitter service due to never being in this situation before. From the moment I spoke to Mallory on the phone, I knew we were in good hands. There have been 4 different sitters come to our home to care for my Dad and we have only wonderful things to say about every one of them. The staff that answers the phone are friendly and helpful as well. The community liaison was quick to respond to our needs.I would recommend Covenant Caregivers to anyone who would need this type of service.

About
Covenant Caregivers - Home Care

In 1998, our owner, Mike Davis, walked through the doors of an assisted living community with hopes of becoming their new marketing director. From the moment he entered the beautiful lobby area with residents coming and going, he knew he had found something special. What he didn't know at the time was that he would be beginning a journey of service to senior adults that would foster a deep rooted passion and result in years of rewarding work. From marketing to operations management, both local and regional, the experiences would be too many to count. After eight years, a new door opened for Mike to enter the hospice and palliative care field. This experience was equally rewarding and paved the way to see firsthand how many elderly people were determined to stay at home and care for their loved ones. The need for additional care and services was great in order for an elderly person dealing with a terminal illness to remain in the comfort of his/her own home - but so very important.
