Please, Im begging youdo not send a friend or love one here! This is the WORST hospital in the state of Mississippi. It is an embarrassment to our state. Do not seek impatient mental health treatment at this facility. Patients are verbally, physically, emotionally and mentally abused. How this place is still open, I will never know. I have a 30yr history of experience with different psychiatric hospitals and this is by far the worst! ATTN: To the male tech, just know I wasnt completely sedated. But, its my word against yours. God knows and I hope it eats at you everyday!

Was told by my nurse that I would be discharged the next day because of my medical issues. Realized that they wouldn't be helping me. Then the same day was shouted at threateningly by another patient. Felt unsafe at that point.

Genuinely it was a good experience for me. I learned so much from the group therapy sessions, Miss Kathy the church lady that comes around, and the other people in there with me. Most of the nurses are amazing (but the ones that arent- dear god its bad). It is confusing when you get there & hardly anyone got a half-accurate itinerary, but if you go in with an open mind it really does put you back in a good mental state. And I made some sweet friends in there. No ones pumped to be admitted but making some buddies definitely helps you accommodate better :)

Mental illnesses is very genetic in my family. Years ago my mom got the best treatment at St Dominic behavior Health. But now, I do not recommend this place for anyone. I highly recommended this place to someone who was almost suicidal. She was worst when she got out of St Dominic. She was very mistreated and went along with everything just so she could hurry and get out . She said, should would rather die before she went through what she did. The staff think no one would believe the mentally ill patient over them. May is mental illness awareness month. We all need to take a stand for better hospital treatment for the mentally ill in the Jackson Ms area. If they can bring awareness for mental illness, we need a safe comfortable place with compassionate staff, so the patient can get the proper help instead of being scared and not getting the treatment, they desperately need. Weve got the awareness, now we need better hospital treatment!!
