They'll fraud medicaid all day long (don't worry, the have the 'best lawyers' as told during orientation when you get a job there), but God forbid a stepparent bring in a child, who will be 18 years old in less than 3 months, for mental health services. That's my personal complaint, but I would never recommend Region 8. The staff is like a revolving door and their caseloads are extremely full. You will go months without seeing a therapist, but medicaid will be billed, just keep an eye on your explaination of benefits

Region 8 is suppose to be an affordable way to get mental health for lower income. I don't understand why the sliding scale is minimum $75 or why it's required to have monthly therapy on top of the cost of seeing the psychologist when you have been diagnosed. A monthly cost of $75 plus the fee of the psychologist visit being an additional $75. Explain to me in what way this is affordable for lower income families??

Worst experience ever. Came out with more anxiety and hopelessness. Prescribed a medication she said "had zero side effects". The tens of thousands of ppl who reported side effects disagree. Horrible side effects like night terrors and sleep paralysis. Steer clear of Natalie Moody NP. She had no clue what she is doing. Pushing pills for profit. Her tone was hostile until she heard my insurance carrier, then her eyes lit up. What a complete and total joke.

When I was around 11, I was prescribed anti psychotic medicine to treat my ADHD. This was not a last resort treatment as you would expect. These meds gave me a seizure-like rare side effect called EPS. I was taken off of the medication (Risperdal) and put on Abilify. The symptoms continued. I was then accused by the psychiatrist of LYING about these painful, debilitating seizures because as she put it "Abilify shouldn't cause those symptoms". I was 11. I had no power to argue against this. I was forced to take these meds against my will for many months, and i had to take additional medication to treat the seizures. Keep in mind, I never needed these drugs in the first place. I have ADHD, NOT schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. I'll never forget this disgusting behavior.
