        St. Paul Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy is a great place to start your BJJ journey! The instructors are knowledgeable and good at explaining techniques. Everyone I have meet there has been helpful and welcoming. This is a great place to learn and grow your BJJ skills.

        Very louse group instruction and not worth the money. New and inexperienced students are paired up with others who have no experience and get nothing out of the class. Definitely not worth the $

        This is a great place to practice BJJ. The head coach Brandon truly cares about being an effective teacher. In the little time I've been there he's already made tweaks to how he runs his classes in an effort to improve the learning experience. He seems to constantly be looking for ways to do better and it shows. Not only are the instructors great, so is the community they've been able to foster. There's a real culture in the gym of everyone being welcoming and helpful. There's no shortage of people looking out for you to help you improve. Starting a new hobby is always intimidating but they've managed to take the edge out of it. I highly recommend this place if you're looking to get into BJJ!

        I've been a member of this gym for about a year and a half and before that I trained at other gyms. I can say that head coach, Brandon, takes the art of teaching more seriously than any instructor I've ever trained with. He is sincerely dedicated to the improvement of all the students in this gym. You can find a lot of reasons why you should learn BJJ all over the internet and this is a great place to put that into action.

      Hello John,Im sorry you didn't enjoy your class experience with us.We have been reading & researching how people can best learn physical movement skills. The way we have been structuring our classes has been an effort to find the best way for most people to learn based on the academic research & studies we've been reading & learning about.So far, we have had a lot of positive feedback on classes lately, but I also understand that not everybody learns the same way & unfortunately, depite our best efforts, we can't make everybody happy.I'm very sorry that our class structure & training methods didn't work well for you.Also, just in case you weren't aware; if a student ever feels like they need some extra guidance, they are more than welcome to ask one of our coaches during class for some further guidance.If you would ever want to give our classes another try, we'd love to help you.I also would've been very happy to discuss any of this with you in person had I known you had felt this way. I am still open for discussion about this topic if you would like to discuss it further.Regardless of whether you come back to try our classes again, Jiu Jitsu & submission grappling is an incredibly fun hobby & sport, and I hope you are able to find some training methods & classes that work for you so you can continue your development & reap the benefits & rewards that come with training.Good luck, John!
