Grand Jete

When I mentioned that I needed tap shoes, Grande Jete was the immediate recommendation from at least five people. Everyone in the shop was so friendly and helpful. I came in without an appointment and they were graciously able to fit me in. They took the time to figure out the best solution for my needs and patiently worked through multiple sizes and styles with me. Will definitely be going back for future dance needs!

What an incredible experience! They made it happen to get pointe shoes to us for Nutcracker and sent my daughters tap shoes to us with a personal handwritten note for her to open Christmas morning.

Has lots of little kids dance attire. Nothing for wedding attire for an adult though.

Good selection of dance wear for a small store. The racks of clothes are not well marked so its hard to easily find what youre looking for. I did find a few clothing items to purchase to prepare for my upcoming classes. The shoe fitter who assisted me at my appointment was not helpful at all. I could have used much more guidance on fit. She offered no feedback except to tell me its up to me to decide after I repeatedly said Im not sure how to tell if the fit is correct. The first two rounds of shoes were gaping at the sides and obviously too long. After sizing down and going up a width they still werent quite right but the fitter offered no suggestions or alternative brands. On demi-pointe the shoe pulls away from my arch. I got the shoes out of desperation and hoping they will get better with time or sewing an additional elastic, but am still very uncertain about them. I ordered a different pair online to try because they just seem off. It is disappointing that because Im an adult going back to dance after 20+ years I was treated like I should do the fitters job for her with no guidance. If I can find a different shop to go to next time I will. Glad this was just for slippers and not pointe. Overall I dont feel my experience at Grand Jete was worth the long drive across town.
