Dale's Furniture Refinishing

We hired Dale to refinish our dining room table, he said he would have it done in two weeks. When we arrived he told us we needed to get the stain ourselves and he wanted half down. This would have been good to know ahead of time, Dale is not great at communication. After two and a half weeks passed, I called Dale for an update. He said the table was coming along great. He then called me the next day and said that he had just started the staining process (at this time he had my table for near 3 weeks and had just started staining) and wanted me to come check the color. We stopped by and liked the color, so he could proceed. He did then finish quickly. When we got the table home, we noticed several areas he had missed staining. I sent him pictures and he admitted to missing areas and told us how we could fix it ourselves. I would not hire him again.

Wish I could give zero stars. We were on his waiting list to have three bar stools refinished. He called and asked if we could bring them in by the next day, which we did. He said they would be done in a week. Three weeks later we called and he hadn't started them because he "was busy" Went and got them back along with the paint he had us buy. Beware, he asks for a down payment and then doesn't do anything.

My wife inherited a large chest that her grandfather made. It had about 14 layers of paint from 100 years of use. She took to stripping it herself and put quite a bit of time in but it seemed like a never-ending job. I brought it to Dale before Christmas and he was able to complete the stripping and refinish it in time for the holiday. As someone familiar with the labor and materials involved, I think Dale charged a very reasonable price, especially considering the level of his skill. Highly recommend.
