(The 337)> Your purpose is not to welcome veterans? I guessed that already. My elaboration... I dont have it out for you. :( And there was a front pocket. Maybe he was wearing civies... it didnt look like a uniform. The following is an accurate report of that evening. But I suppose someone will believe your twist of the facts. Clean house, Members. I hope your accounting oversight has gotten better. How often do ya'll change leadership/manager? Time for a change??? I think so. This place is NOT veteran friendly. I stopped recently for the 1st time to check it out around 7pm. I had been considering joining for a while. I was talking to the bartender there that night. He asked about my background. I mentioned along with other things that I was a Vietnam Vet. I even mentioned I recently came across in a file my old U.S. Marine I.D. card with the picture taken while in Vietnam after an E-5 promotion. The bartender asked to see it if I had it on me. I said yes and gave it to him to look at. Bartender grabs scissors and cuts card in half and throws card in the garbage with a smirk...saying..."It has expired." My first instinct was to jump across the bar, but that would end with me in jail because... I have a black belt. I reported it to Eagle's "management" instead the next day. Whoever I talked to didn't care ... and said... "Oh, it's just an ID card... get over it, and the bartender was probably confused." Was he confused, anti-military, anti-vet, or on a power trip knowing he could get away with it? You all pick and decide. I carried that card for a year while in Vietnam after an E-5 promotion. That card had special meaning. It was not "just an ID card". It meant sacrifice. Not just mine but by all that I served with. My young grandson asked once if he could have it one day. I won't be able to honor that request now. I hope no one in the future joins the Eagles. And those now an Eagle, clean house. I worked for Mayo for 35 years after my military service and college. I was asked once by a work colleague... "Why do you still carry that ID?" I said... "It kept me safe in Vietnam. It was my lucky charm. It kept me safe." Members, what is the oversight of the accounting books? I still paid for my drink that night, but I saw the bartender stick the money in his front shirt pocket. I did get a call that the two halves of the ID card were found but since the ID was cut in half, the paper edge of both halves of the laminated ID were exposed to the smelly liquid mess at the bottom of the garbage. A wee bit touched, huh?

Business Response on Google Mar 12th, 2024
We do not have shirts that have front pockets and we only have one male bartender who would never treat anyone in this manner. Please only keep true comments on our page. Unless you have us confused with another Eagles club, this never happened at the Rochester location and I'm a touch confused on why you have it out for us. If you want a veteran bar (which is not our main purpose) I'll kindly ask you to check out the VFW in town. Thank you.
