As a forty year Mayo employee in Rochester, I didn't pay as much attention to retirement savings options as I should have. I was vaguely aware of the changes Mayo had made to the retirement pension, and benefits packages. As a married person, working and raising four kids alongside my wife, I didn't always stay informed about retirement strategies. I did work with a financial planner at one point along the way. This individual did assist us in getting educational savings plans set up, but beyond that, my experience was dreadful. No communication, no insights, just a lot of pressure to purchase investment products, and trades. Our relationship was a short one. The experience made me hesitant to find someone new. Everyone at Fortress Financial Group is there because financial advising is in them - it's what they do. I see it in their responsiveness, the depth of their answers, and their focus and commitment. Their world is one of serving clients. For instance, before I decided to invest with them, their compliance officer was happy to spend an hour with me answering my detailed questions. Truly. She was happy that I was asking her questions about how they handle data storage, passwords, cyber security, etc. (Bottom line: They're on it.) They are very interested in what I would like to do in retirement so that they can help me reach my goals. They know what questions to ask me, how to tease answers out of me, and then show me how they align my investments to achieve my desired outcomes. This is an easy review.
