Poor management, the maintenance guys are useless, they dont fix anything and they cause more damage than good. They dont answer their emergency phone calls. The management is not professional, they make promises and dont follow through. Appliances dont work and dont get fixed properly or replaced.

I currently reside at Georgtowne Home and the experience has been absolutely horrible. When I view the property I was shown a model town home and what I was put in was far and I mean far from what I got to move into. I honestly thought it was a joke. When I moved in in January of this year there were bugs, mold and many of the appliances did not work. I did not get a working washing machine and stove until early this summer remind you I have lived here since January. The only reason that I even got appliances that work is because I informed management that I would be contacting the city. There are still a number of issues in my unit that still need to be addressed as I still have this rottening urine smell that emanates in the downstairs living area in addition to bugs. I have had to address these issues multiple times with management and I get the same run around of someone will come, it will get fixed or we will address it right away and nothing happens. They had posted hours for management in which they are never there. I have had to take pictures, save emails in attempts of getting anything done. I have called Velair Property Management 3 times and never gotten a response either. In no way shape or form have I been offered reimbursement for having to live without working appliance or live in the conditions which I have had to live in. This is by far the worst renting experience EVER!!!!

I literally cannot think of anything good to say about Georgetowne Homes. *The biggest complaint, which is also the most current, is that they have not returned our security deposit and it has been nearly 8 weeks, which is 5 weeks past the legal limit. We have called and left numerous messages (good luck getting them to answer the phone) and emails, which they barely have replied to. We are sending them one last notice regarding our legal rights before we resort to having to settle in court. How it was living there: *When we did our initial walk-through of the unit we were renting, we noticed significant grime and even dangerous things such as loose outlets. We also noted that our unit did not have an L-shaped privacy fence (only a fence between our neighbors patio and ours), despite being right next to the playground. *When we brought this up to management, and told them that the "equivalent" unit we were shown did have that extra degree of privacy, all we got was a "Well, they're not all the same." *The day after we moved in, we tried doing laundry, and learned that our clothes dryer made a horrible, banshee-like screech while running. How bad was it? I could clearly hear it down the street when all our doors and windows were shut. We immediately told management. We continued to tell them for 3 MONTHS, and one day they told us "It says here we fixed it." It was clearly not fixed and continued to screech for months before they actually sent someone out. *Cars were always parked on both sides of the already narrow private street, making it difficult to drive (also, kids would always play in the road) and "guest" parking was always full, so it was a challenge to invite anyone over. (Also, neighbors would park on our half of the driveway, blocking us from leaving our garage.). *Management wouldn't do anything about the dozens of potholes that developed during the winter and spring (they only started putting sand in them in the middle of summer. See the attached pictures for how bad it was *at the beginning*. It got consistently worse until some of the potholes were over a foot in diameter and over 5-6 inches deep. Resident commonly had to drive on the curb/sidewalk to avoid them. *The garage walls were extremely thin, meaning that when our neighbors smoked in their garage, the smell would fill our garage and front hallway. *The dishwasher was ancient, very loud, and left water marks and scum all over our dishes, even when using JetDry. *Bad neighborhood-- we had packages stolen in broad daylight. *When we told them we were moving out at the end of our lease, they tried to sneak in a charge for carpet cleaning, which was not part of the lease agreement. *There is maybe 1 person who does maintenance, and the turnover for management is staggering. We had 4-5 different managers in our 1 year there. Honestly, it really was a horrible experience. I strongly discourage anyone from *ever* renting from Georgetowne or any of Velair Management's other properties.
