UPDATE: As a response to the owners reply. After our initial tax appointment, we reached out to Joy over 5 times in March via emails and calls to get clarification on the documents she still needed from us and also waiting on a spreadsheet she was supposed to send us to help us complete some information. Again we called and emailed multiple times. She never responded until 4 days before the tax deadline which forced us into working with another tax consultant. We reached out to Joy several times asking for a refund since she had us pay up front via Venmo and she never responded to us. The interaction was such a disappointment and her response to this review and lack of accountability is an even bigger disappointment. This was our first time hiring an accountant to do our taxes. Joy started out great and then when it came to the follow up items, she went MIA on us. We started following up with Joy for her to send us information we needed to get the rest of our info to her about a month before the tax deadline, emails, calls & voicemails and we heard nothing back. Joy finally responded to us a few days before the tax deadline - rushing us to get back to her so she could complete our return. After not hearing back from Joy after multiple emails and calls, we ended up going to another accountant so we could ensure our taxes were done on time. Joy had us pay her via Venmo during our initial appointment. We have requested a refund multiple times, emails & calls and have not heard back. We hoped this worked out much differently as we love to support small local businesses - but sadly it was not a good experience and we cannot confidently recommend Joy.
