I highly recommend Sod Smith, LLC. I got a response from them very quickly after inquiring on their website, and Kaleb was very helpful in describing the process of replacing sod. I had some questions regarding the amount of topsoil to add, and we came to an understanding that I would pay a bit more for additional topsoil since there was 100% clay under my previous sod. The team that came out was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and hard working. It was clear that they were there do do an amzing job, and when the sod was installed, I expected to see rows of sod - but it was actually seamless! I was really happy with the quality of the sod and the installation. Mikah was in charge of the project, and Kaleb came to oversee the process as well. Mikah actually stayed later after the installation team had left to make sure my irrigation system was programmed to water the new sod correctly, and they e-mailed me instructions for maintenance of new sod: weed control, watering, fertilization, etc. I did have some questions about the instruction sheet, so I texted them and never received a response. So I e-mailed them with the same questions after they e-mailed me to ask for a review, and again I never heard from them. The lack of responsiveness after installation I was not exactly happy about, but I guessed about how to manage the lawn, and so far I think it is doing okay. I recommend buying some "stay off the lawn" signs, and staking/ taping the lawn off, because SO MANY PEOPLE WALKED ALL OVER MY FRESH SOD before they were supposed to. Ugh. That was very frustrating. Overall I would give Sod Smith 5 stars, but I would encourage them to improve communication with clients, particularly after installation regarding questions about maintenance.

I picked Sod Smith over a couple of other bids despite them not being the lowest bid (they were the middle bid) because Kaleb had a detailed plan of what he would do with the backyard. He recommend specific grading for some tricky parts of the yard as well as gave me some installation date options that would fit with some other work i was having planned in the yard. On the day of the install they showed up on time and split the work over a couple of days. The crew was very good natured and respectful and I appreciated Micah's communication. An exposed cable line was accidentally cut and I appreciated Micah's honesty and willingness to rectify the situation. All in all a good experience and I would highly recommend this company.
