This was my first visit to Lua Nova, and my first visit to any salon in 9 months. Riley was awesome! She made me feel so welcome and not at all embarrassed about how bad my hair had gotten. She listened to what I wanted done, my fears, and my long-term hair goals to help develop a plan for future visits. I felt safe in her chair and left with a fresh haircut, a great style, and a huge smile on my face! I have definitely found my new hair salon home in Minnesota!

Im very picky about who cuts my hair. Anne listened and gave me exactly what I wanted and answered all my questions. Great place!! Hair type: Fine, curly, thin, tangled and dry.

I came in for an appointment for a blonde balayage and cut. This was my first time to this salon and I was hopefully based on Google reviews. She didnt seem to listen to what I wanted. I came in with LONG hair and showed her a shoulder length picture. She said oh so like this much? And held up about an inch of my hair. I dont believe what she did was even a balayage. Its close to an all over color/highlight and I seem to have actual lines between where my natural color is and the bleach (?). She overtoned it so badly I have blue/purple streaks, a majority of my hair looks grey and the color is very uneven throughout. She asked if I wanted lighter pieces around my face. I definitely got them, theyre grey/blue. I was also then very confused when she told me she had to add an extra amount for the toning. Ive never seen that anywhere else as its just been a part of the color service. I couldnt see most of the issues until I got home. I could tell it was very light when at the salon but was hoping it was just the lights. The cut is fine, but honestly not what I expected for a salon with such high Google ratings. I gave it a 3 out of 5 because I saw other stylists doing great work on others. I will be contacting the salon to have it fixed, hopefully. First photo was what I showed for inspo, second is what I got for $300 I expected so much more. This is definitely not a $300 hair experience.
