Not my real name, just a Google handle. So far, the only downside is that the check-in/ scheduling desk is a little bit down the hall from the main doors, which honestly isn't a huge deal for me. All of the check-in/ scheduling staff I've encountered have been absolute sweethearts & have made the process as easy as possible. I also have been lucky the first therapist I was placed with (Davidetta) has been a great match. She has been a safe space to talk out my life difficulties, as well as a guide to help me figure out what is behind it all, healthier coping skills, ways to adjust my reactions to things & continue to work on myself & rediscovering the real me underneath past traumas. Some days are a bit rougher, but I already feel better about myself & my future only a few months in so far. PS, anyone reading this that is dealing with mental health issues, I know it's a process & takes work, & may take trying a few therapists to find the best fit, but if you have access & the means to get the therapy, you are worth healing yourself!

One star for multiple reasons. First reason is that my (former) doctor (who happens to be the clinic director) was inattentive and didn't listen to what I had to say. Second reason is that I suggested on multiple occasions to begin DBT therapy and the idea was rejected - keep this in mind. Third reason is that the doctor and associates treated me like a drug addict for asking for anxiolytic medications. Fourth reason is that even after I decided to switch doctors (within N&A), I was told I "had to stay with the same doctor." Fifth reason is that even after I told N&A that I was done working with them, they kept sending me harassing letters, one such letter, the latest one, was "conditions by which I could return to care under N&A," one of which was starting DBT therapy. As in the therapy I had suggested before. I wasn't going to write this review but the fact N&A continues to send me letters after I quit working with them (especially this last one) made me feel I need to let people know what to expect. N&A never listened to what I had to say and was judgmental of my situation when I was in a state of vunerability and needing help getting back on my feet mentally-emotionally. People should be able to seek help and be heard by these people who say they want to help you with your mental health concerns. You deserve to be heard and your insights respected in your own care. I suggest, for your sake, reader, that you seek care elsewhere. You deserve better.

NOT TRANSGENDER FRIENDLY. I have been fighting with Nystrom & Associates for literally YEARS now to improve their policies and practices regarding trans patients. They claim they have put procedures in place, but they clearly have not properly trained their staff on those procedures. I cannot book an appointment, speak to a nurse, or receive any services without being deadnamed. They insist that they need me to state the legal name out loud in order to locate my record. They have this information on file for insurance billing purposes, but there are other ways to confirm the account that dont require traumatizing the individual. I have to speak with a manager EVERY time. I am exhausted and done trying. DO NOT BOOK WITH NYSTROM if you are seeking an LGBTQIA+ friendly practice.
