Kicking someone out 5 days before Christmas because he missed a meeting with a case manager he didn't know about. He will be homeless again as we enter the coldest months of the year. Who does that to someone?

Im a missionary originally from the Fargo-Moorhead area who returned there for a season in 2006 to resolve a personal legal matter. Needing lodging, I stayed at the Dorothy Day House for about a month. While I was there, we were required to keep a journal and write about our progress in finding work and a more stable place to live. Having worked in ministry for several years, I sought employment related to that but didnt find anything other than freelance website work. Meanwhile, one of the directors urged me to take on a job doing phone surveys. That position had inconsistent hours. I resigned after being told to write false information on their forms. I informed the Dorothy Day staff of this and would search for a different job. A couple of days later, I came back to the house at 5:00 p.m. and was told to move out THAT NIGHT! No advance warning was given. I did my best to honor house rules. Fortunately, a man I met days before offered to let me stay with him for a while. Still, I wasn't happy with the Dorothy Day House suddenly booting me out. Hopefully, their policies have improved since then.
