We moved in 3 1/2 years ago and it was the best move we could have made. Never thought we would make so many new friends at this point in our lives. Maintenance free living allows us to pursue many interests we have put on hold for years. Love, love living in this welcoming community.

Moved here about three years ago, somewhat reluctantly. Now i am the biggest booster of this place. Social life, new friends, all unbelievable, even with this virus limiting us. And we are so close to Minnehaha creek and bike trails that exercise is easy and pleasant. Moving here was second best thing I've ever done, next to marrying my wife.

I have been a resident of Applewood Pointe for over 5 years. There is so much positive about living here, it's hard to know where to begin. The location, with Minnehaha Creek to the north and the bike/walking trails to the south is beautiful. The walk to Lunds/Byerlys' is 15 minutes via the trail. The Summer gardens are masterfully tended by the members who didn't want to give up gardening when they moved in. The garage which is climate controlled naturally is a joy in which to park. If you love washing your car, there is a place with all the needed equipment to do so. My unit is perfect for me, but I also have space to entertain family and friends. Activities abound. This week I won at Bingo, 500 cards and Pinocle, but I must admit that is not usual for me. Tonight there is a barbeque celebrating Independence Day, as a part of our weekly Thursday dinners. You can choose as many activities as you wish, Bridge, Knitting, Blanket Brigade, Men's Discussion, Mah Jongg, Poker, Cribbage, Book Club to name a few...but you can be as idle as you would like. In your current neighborhood you have some good friends on whom you depend, but here you will have friends who are right next door. If you are considering a move, I would heartily recommend for you to learn the many benefits of living in community.

After living my entire life in Southern California, my husband and I made the difficult decision to pack up and move to Minnesota. We watched on a webcam as our new home, Applewood Pointe of Minnetonka, began to take shape. In late February of 2017, we drove from sunshine to snow. Since that day, I have never had a minute of regret. Moving to Minnesota and, specifically, to Applewood Pointe was the best decision we ever made. From the beginning, we felt like we suddenly had a new family. Our community is such a welcoming place. Even if you dont know every person well, you know that if you ever need a helping hand it will be there without even asking. And during this difficult time, we feel a sense of safety and security knowing that our community is doing everything possible to protect our health. Our social activities have been curtailed significantly this year, but eventually well be back to Tuesday Coffee, Thirsty Thursday, and endless opportunities to join a committee or a special interest group (bridge, knitting, mahjongg, Bible study, book club and more.) Our homes are spacious and well-appointed. They are apparently well insulated because its a rare day when we turn on our heat, even in the dead of winter. Our home faces the pond and looks across to the Regional Trail. Lots of trees make us feel like we live in our own little forest. We never hear our neighbors except when we call a hello and wave from our deck. There are so many reasons to be happy about living in this cooperative: its maintenance-free, the grounds are beautiful, people are friendly and always willing to help, our staff is helpful and keep our common areas spotless and inviting, and other than paying for electricity all our expenses are folded into the monthly service fee (cable, water, trash, DirecTV, telephone, gas . everything you need to live a happy, carefree life. This got very wordy, but there's so much to say about this place. Summed up in a few words: Applewood Pointe is a wonderful place to live!
