10 - 10 - 10's across the board. The Whim is a perfect venue in a great location with stellar hospitality in the most gorgeous space! Jennae and Elliot were amazing to work with and truly care about their couples. Being in the wedding industry, I know there are so many amazing venues in Minneapolis, but none quite like The Whim. We came in with a lot of ideas and their team allowed us to execute them while assisting us in all the logistics. Their spacious venue was perfect for our 100-person wedding allowing guests to flow through the space from ceremony to reception. There are truly unlimited photo ops inside and outside of the venue. Pro tip: have the Espresso Martinis on. your bar menu! Thank you to The Whim for everything!

I am the owner of Celisia Stanton Photography, and one of my clients held their wedding at The Whim. The Whim is a GORGEOUS venue in the heart of NE Minneapolis, and it was so fun to photograph photos in and around the area. The ceremony and reception space has many large windows with tons of natural light, allowing us to capture indoor ceremony photos without struggling with awkward shadows or uneven lighting often present in churches or other indoor venues. My clients also made full use of the Whims side room, filling the tall white bookshelves with nearly a dozen framed portraits of various family members on their wedding days. This then served as the backdrop for some significant first look and family photos. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a light and airy wedding venue in Minneapolis!

I absolutely adore photographing weddings here! As someone who has been photographing weddings for over a decade let me make it clear that there is no better culmination of an incredible space, wonderful owners, attention to detail, and an all around immersive wedding experience. They even have a private whiskey bar in the basement and are dog friendly! The modality of the venue is one of my favorite parts; if you want intimacy you got it, if you want lots of space, you got. I have never seen a venue able to balance both so simultaneously. If you are in the market for stress-free uniqueness and modern elegance this is the place for you. I am especially fond of the location of the venue, the surrounding streets of NE Minneapolis are so full of varying vignettes that compliment the day so delightfully and make family photos, wedding party photos, and couple portraits so different every time. Make sure to take advantage of all the textures.
