        I visited many years ago with my son and was impressed there seemed to be a lot of educational exhibits. This time my expectations were not met. Museum has very limited exhibits and some were not functioning my kids enjoyed the Ben Franklin static electricity room but outside of that it wasnt memorable.

        This is such a beautiful historical building / setting, and the staff members were professional and personable. However, I think it's too bad that the museum seems to offer a feminist agenda that uplifts women over men. (Only women scientist bios displayed in the Spark / project room, etc.)

      Hi Lisa, thanks for visiting the museum! Museums, including The Bakken Museum, have a history of not sharing the stories of women and BIPOC individuals or groups in our spaces. As our gender and race representation audit shows, (please find that at thebakkenmuseum.squarespace.com/s/Bakken-Museum-Race-and-Gender-Representation-Report_2022.pdf) we have work yet to do to get to gender parity in the stories we tell in our exhibitions. We're also currently gearing up for Women's History Month in March, as well as our annual Women in Science event, which has increased the number of stories featuring woman-identifying individuals in our activities and programs. We take pride in uplifting voices and stories that have historically been excluded. Thanks again for visiting and for taking the time to leave a review.
