I've worked with Nicole on 2 mortgages now. For the first, I was a first-time homebuyer and doing it alone. She was very, very good at calming my nerves and explaining the process in an accessible way. That first underwriting process is so labor-intensive and requires so much documentation, and it was super beneficial to work with someone so hands-on. For the second, I was a seasoned homebuyer and wasn't going to have issues being approved, but I came in with a more complicated situation (unmarried domestic partners who both want to be on the deed, partner still has an unused VA loan, illiquid cash flow tied up in equity). She helped us navigate the mortgage option that best fit out financial and legal situation. We initially wanted to use the VA loan so we didn't need to sell the current house we lived in before we bought a new place (no one wants a narrow window to buy in this market!). We were super delighted that Nicole came back to us with a completely different plan - conventional mortgage and a HELOC on our existing property to avoid PMI. This level of expertise and advising is what I expect from a skilled mortgage originator. Too often, I've seen my friends struggle through a tumultuous underwriting process because their originators chose the mortgage product that was the easiest to get past underwriting and was the simplest for the broker, even though it wasn't the best for the client in the short or long term. In 2022, it feels like the consumer is constantly inundated with scams, and we're expected to be hypervigilant to ensure we aren't screwed over by bad actors. It was a great relief to not have to practice such hypervigilance with my mortgage. Also, I appreciated CrossCountry Mortgage's seamless online portal that allowed us to connect our accounts digitally. It was 10000x simpler than my previous experiences. Surprisingly little paperwork!

My fianc and I were introduced to Nicole through our realtor, and we would absolutely recommend her to others. She was educational, realistic, and supportive - and patiently answered all 10,000 of our questions. We always received quick responses and felt supported as first-time buyers during a strong sellers market. There were no financial surprises at any point in the process, and we felt prepared to close when the time came. It was also super nice that she worked so well with our realtor and all the "behind the scenes" stuff that happens after an offer is accepted seemed to flow well. Overall Nicole was great - we love our house and are financially comfortable with our loan and monthly payments.
