They have a bunch of scrap gold on a scale in the photos but they don't buy anything but coins and bars. Pretty misleading.

I scheduled an appointment online for the next day to sell a couple gold coins. They promptly contacted me with a quote. The price was pretty similar to what I would expect to get on ebay after shipping and the site's cut, but much more convenient! Do note: it's not a jewelry store but an ad hoc appointment, and they really appreciated my showing up on time. Would do business with them again!

I would like to take this opportunity to write a testimonial on the positive experience that I had working with Chad Castellanos at Gold Pay. 3 years ago my wife and I had a handful of gold items that were looking to sell as we no longer had a need for them. We decided to contact a gold purchasing service to see what value these items had and we were referred to Chad by a family member as one source for gold valuation. We contacted Chad and he came and met us conveniently at our house at the agreed upon time. The first thing that Chad did that really impressed us was that he weighed the items in front of us for full transparency on the weight of the items. After reviewing our gold, Chad took his time and explained what carat each item was and how the weight and carat factored into each items value. He wrote down the value of each item for us to review and he did not apply any pressure for us to sell any of the items. We appreciated this as we were able to take our time to decide what items we would be willing to part with and what items we wished to hang on to. We felt that the prices we were offered were competitive and we decided to sell most of the items. The other part of the experience that I appreciated is that my wife had a pair of diamond earrings that we had Chad review. He was completely honest and let us know that he could offer us the value of the gold backs but that the diamonds were not in his market. He said that we could keep the diamonds if we wished to sell the earrings. Ultimately, we decided to keep the earrings for the time being but we thought this gesture of honesty was quite impressive.
