Recently a transplant patient. Chose this place since rating is average. Terrible mistake. From day 1, this place was a joke. The nurse assigned to do my evaluation and first lab draw did NOT want to work with my schedule. I had an all-day full of appointments and she only wanted to come during my appointment times. Lab is supposed to be done prior to my morning 8am meds, but she was complaining about how it's too early and how she has to drive a far distance to just meet me at my place. She wanted me to be flexible with her instead of the other way around. She arrived late, made me late with my morning meds, took lab in the worst spot and flicked my vein up, making it worse. It's been over a week and I still never seen the lab results for that day. She didn't even put me in the system so no one showed up for my next morning blood draw! I called their office and was told that I didn't even have an evaluation, even though I did! With the next appointment, a covid test was supposed to be done because I had a procedure that same day at the hospital. This nurse was too focused on trying to get lab, couldn't feel the vein, but still decided to poke and fish around... Got nothing. She panic and called to let my hospital know she was not able to draw lab, told me someone more experienced will show up the next day, and she left right away. With this 3rd visit, the nurse was a no-show and no-call. This is the 2nd time now! I called, left a message and took my meds late again because of them. Received a call back from the office a little over an hour later and was told no one was sent over because they don't have a covid test kit. Told the person that they're too late with the covid test. I already had the test done because my procedure at the hospital was done yesterday! Ridiculous of an excuse to NOT send someone today to get lab. Called transplant coordinator and told them to get rid of this home care company. I'm so done with them. I highly do NOT recommend this Fairview/Accent Home care.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, to Moms primary care nurse, Sophie, social worker, Leslie, and every on-call nurse, and administrative staff member. As a retired nurse, I was able to care for my Mom, in her home, as per her wishes, until her death. I will forever be grateful to Fairview Hospice for the support that my Mother and I received.

Short explanation and warning. My sister, 61 years old was told by her pulmonologist that she had a 30-40% mortality rate of 6 months due to her COPD. She wanted coverage for a bi-pap machine for sleep and trelogy, a medication that helped her to breathe, and was told that Hospice would cover it. After contemplating and comparing medical treatment by her physicians, and discussion from hospice, she decided on hospice. She did NOT get the meds she wanted. Instead, her hospice team immediately prescribed morphine, they said to help her breathing. She became nauseated, so her nurse prescribe Haldol, which I warned the nurse could be deadly especially for someone with COPD. The nurse denied that it would cause a problem. She was given these meds every 4 hours by her sister, who trusted the nurse. After 3 days, my sister was completely out. She would wake up 15-20 minutes before her next dose, and was shaky and anxious. She would be administered the drugs and was out again after 20 minutes. The nurse THEN advised to give her the meds every two hours, and added XANAX to the cocktail. My sister died from euthanasia/overdose of these drugs. She was independent and alert when the drugs were started. She passed away 19 minutes after her last deadly dose. She struggled for breath. She did NOT want to die. She had a difficult time breathing at times, but the nurse stated that her lungs were clear when she started the drugs. This is NOT okay! Hospice is for the actively dying, not terminally ill who still have quality time to live. My sister was on hospice no more than 10 days before she died. This was wrong and people need and have the right to be aware of the power this entity has over human life. You MUST advocate for your loved ones. You MUST be aware that Fairview hospice has a death plan for your loved one when they agree to care under hospice.

My dad was in hospice with Fairview while at Aurora on France. They are simply amazing, and such a comforting, empathetic team of people. We absolutely loved Andrea and the rest of the team - they gave my dad the highest quality of care and were a crucial source of support for us during his last few weeks. It takes some incredibly special people to do what you do, and this team was the best of the best. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
