My daughter needed to have a medical procedure done and went through all the correct channels with the insurance company to have the surgery, and was told twice from the insurance company that her procedure would be covered. All the pre op tests were paid for by the insurance company prior to her surgery. Once my daughter had the surgery her explanation of benefits started arriving from the insurance company reversing all claims. When we called the insurance company we were told that her procedure is not covered because it states in her policy that pre-existing and congenital disorders are not covered. When we called to get pre authorization for this procedure, we were told twice it was covered. We appealed the decision to the insurance company and lost. We contacted the Attorney Generals Office and we were referred to Burns Law Firm. Patrick listened to our case and thought it would be a case that could be won, but wasnt going to be easy. We sent all doctor notes, billing statements and anything that was related to the case to Patrick. Patrick went ahead and contacted the insurance company, wrote letters and whatever it took to get our case heard. The good news was the insurance company reversed their appeal and all my daughters medical bills were paid.
