They helped my daughter learn skills to help her eyes to work together. She went from struggling with homework and reading to being on the A honor roll and loving to read chapter books. Sandy is also wonderful to work with!! Thanks!

My daughter struggled for years with headaches, she hated math and reading. She was falling behind in these subjects. We saw eye doctors, Occupational therapist and other doctors trying to figure it out. Since doing the 16 week program she no longer has headaches. She has improved in math by 3 grade levels and now reads 500 page books in about a week. I cant get her to put her book down. She will even choose reading over TV time. Doing this program has been life changing.

Short version: After sustaining a severe concussion, Dr. Sis and her incredible team gave me my life back. The program was worth every penny! Long Version: Before Vision Therapy, I struggled with symptoms including sound sensitivity, light sensitivity, nausea, brain fog, headaches, and neck pain from the concussion and whiplash I had sustained seven months earlier. My injuries induced several eye issues, not allowing my brain to heal. I struggled with severe symptoms and extreme sensitivity to noise, light, thinking/multi-tasking, snow, rain, and lightning. The entire world seemed to provoke symptoms that would send me to a dark, quiet room in agony for hours. My family tiptoed around me for months to try not to trigger me. I missed so many moments with my family and friends because I could tolerate precious little. After months of being imprisoned in my home and bed by my symptoms, I began to feel like I would never heal. I had faith in my amazing care teams belief that I would heal, but I had lost faith that anything would change as I had been trying to recover for months with little progress. Luckily, several referrals later, I met Dr. Sis, and things began to change. After being prescribed glasses by Dr. Sis and continuing my physical therapy, and newly started occupational and light therapy, I started noticing a reduction in my symptoms. After several months of glasses and continued therapies, I was about 75% symptom-free. I was much better, but I still was cautious about what stimuli I encountered. I was still wearing my glasses continuously. After starting at Pediatric Vision Development Center, I noticed fewer and fewer symptoms and less severity as I progressed through weekly treatments. After completing weekly vision therapy appointments, I feel I am 97% healed. With the remaining home taper treatments, I have faith that my brain will continue to heal and my remaining symptoms will subside. The same week I graduated from weekly in-clinic treatments, I could tolerate being in two different noisy, bright, and busy restaurants with no sound or light protection (noise-canceling earbuds, hats, sunglasses, etc.) I didnt even have to wear my prescription glasses. These situations had been intolerable since my injury. I still occasionally notice some noises/stimuli that I dont like, but they do not send me to bed for hours as they once had. I rarely use my glasses outside of reading and computer work now, my preinjury baseline - Thank Goodness! It is WONDERFUL to feel like I can function and tolerate most of the everyday life experiences and situations we all take for granted when we are healthy. I believe that my remaining few symptoms will continue to subside. For anyone with the unfortunate luck to have a similar injury, please believe there is hope that you can get better. The day I first sought treatment after my injury, a kind and wise receptionist who had also had previously received a concussion encouraged me to be patient. Boy, was she right. I have learned this lesson through many difficult months and experiences, but now that I am coming out the other side, I will repeat her words. Be patient with yourself and your situation. It can become so hard, but BELIEVE, there are people who can help you get your life back. Dr. Sis is one of those wonderful people. I am so grateful to her and her incredible team for their help in my recovery.

Vision therapy was life changing for our daughter! After multiple tutors, help in school and out of school, and endless attempts at reading, our daughter one day told us that the words look like a tornado on the page. As a third grader not being able to read, this was heart wrenching and difficult for her. She worked HARD with her therapist and Dr. Sis and fell in love with her therapist and the whole team! She now loves reading and enjoys reading every day! We thank the team from the bottom of our hearts for helping Kate, encouraging her and loving her for her! You wont find a better care team!
