I can't say enough about the incredible support I've received from MEDA (Metropolitan Economic Development Association) over the years. I also had the privilege of participating in the MEDA MINI-MBA program, a transformative 3-month cohort experience alongside other business owners. I had the privilege of being part of the MEDA Ascend Program's 2023 cohort, and I must say it was an excellent experience. The program, which spans over 6 months, is a well-designed training program aimed at educating minority entrepreneurs on various aspects of business procedures.
One of the highlights of the program is its comprehensive curriculum, which covers essential topics such as marketing, finance, problem-solving, and bidding for contracts. The program ensures that participants gain a solid understanding of these crucial areas, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the business world.
What sets the Ascend Program apart is its collaboration with the business schools at the University of MN and Ohio State University. This collaboration adds immense value to the program, as participants benefit from the expertise and resources of these prestigious institutions. The program provides a unique opportunity to learn from industry professionals and academic experts, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
Towards the end of the program, participants are given the chance to pitch their business ideas to Fortune 500 companies. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase their skills and potentially secure valuable partnerships or contracts. I must commend the organisers and coordinators of the Ascend Program for their professionalism and dedication. For over 50 years, the Metropolitan Economic Development Association (MEDA) has been moving the needle for BIPOC Entrepreneurs. They have a proven track record of lifting, supporting, and building opportunities for BIPOC businesses in Minnesota by offering financial, networking, and consulting services.
My company has worked as a partner with MEDA for the past 5 years. During that time, we have witnessed the way MEDA is embedded and consistently impacting BIPOC Entrepreneurs in huge ways.
