Thank you for your review. I had to dig since it was here 4 years ago. Not only had your vehicle been tampered with by incompetent mechanics but you didn't want to fix it properly which is why it barely ran when you took it and also why the judge denied your claim:Here is the email I sent prior to you declining any additional work and suing us:I was informed that you were not happy with the work we did and thought I should write to let you know that we take this seriously. I would like to make sure that we are communicating effectively and that this is resolved in a way that is mutually beneficial.From our end, you brought the 380 in because of the fluctuation in idle and speed. I, personally, started diagnosis with the intake and CIS system as these are most troublesome on these cars. I found a ton of leaking from the intake from the throttle body boot, air injection hose on the right bank as well as a number of other dry cracked hoses. Not too uncommon for a vehicle of her age and mileage.I communicated to you personally that I wanted to start with repairing the intake leaks because these can cause the symptoms and any other diagnosis or repairs done without correcting the intake leaks may result in misdiagnosis. You agreed and I removed the intake, found all the leaks and repaired it. After making the repairs we found that the car would not start which surprised us because it should have run better! After a bit more inspection what we found was that whomever had been working on the car in the past, either didn't know what they were doing or tried to get by cheap. What the previous shops had done was adjust the throttle plate so it stayed open 1/8" to compensate for all the additional air entering the intake. We repaired the throttle plate so it closed fully and continued from there and set idle speed with the air plate mixture screw and the car ran ok after that. Not great but well enough to continue to look at other issues.Prior to all this work you stated that you had maxed out your limit to put into the car for the season. Understanding this we still spent a little extra time on the car that we didn't charge for to see what the next step would be. I personally drove the car and noted the surging and also noted that it would get much better after the car was running for a while. This led me to believe the fuel pump is starting to fail. I actually had a good, used pump that we had on our shelf and gifted the pump to you in the event you decided you wanted to tinker with it yourself and install it or have us install it in the Spring.Your car is nice but she definitely needs some work to get her up to the standard you desire. We've repaired things that needed to be repaired and do not feel your money was not well spent. In all honesty, I don't think you would have been led down a different path anywhere you took the car that knows these systems.All that being said, I am concerned about your attitude and behavior in our shop. It was reported to me that you were not only loud and rude in front of other clients, but verbally abusive to my staff. I do understand that car repairs can be stressful and spending money is never fun but to act in the manner that was reported to me will not be tolerated here. I would like to hear your side of what happened as well.Nonetheless, I am sad that you were not happy with our approach to the repairs of your vehicle and our willingness to go above and beyond by providing a pump that should be the next step. Take some time and meditate on things and let me know what you feel we should have done differently.Thank you for the opportunity to be of service.
